More London Fashion

Today's rain showers in NYC are quite fitting; they seem to pay a kind of homage to London. Or maybe my mind has gone cukoo due to over-exposure to London Fashion Week. Either way, I like to think the rain is a reminder of the excitement taking place across the pond.

Today, LFW served up the likes of Mulberry and Roksanda Ilincic. And yesterday, fashion from Peter Pilotto and Erdem dotted the runway. Here are some of my personal favorites:

Roksanda Ilincic
Roksanda Ilincic's show featured gorgeous color blocking, heavenly billowy sleaves, and contrasting textures (done in a subtle, yet ingenious, manner). This might be one of the most brilliant collections I've ever seen. (Photos from the London Fashion Week site)

Mulberry
The Mulberry show dressed to impress. Jacquard jackets, supple leather, and monochromatic statements, all done with a bit of whimsy. I was really moved by this performance. (Photos from the London Fashion Week site)

Peter Pilotto
The Peter Pilotto collection for Spring/Summer 2013 is the perfect combination of psychodelic and rock n' roll (with a bit of Asian influence running throughout). I adore the simple dress silhouettes with unexpected patterns splashed upon them. The use of diametrically opposite patterns and textures in a single piece is so very clever. And the drama -- the drama is always there. (Photos from the London Fashion Week site)

Erdem
While I have always adored the work of Erdem Moralioglu, my love affair with his clothing really blossomed when the Dutchess wore his impeccable lace dress in Canada. It comes as no suprise that this master creator presented an absolute breathtaking Spring/Summer 2013 collection, featuring (more) lace, pastels, and sheer materials. But it was the use of snakeskin that really amazed viewers and showcased Erdem's versatility. (Photos from the London Fashion Week site)
