Checking Out Chisato

The Tsumori Chisato Pour Petit Bateau collection (available at La Garconne) is absolutely adorable. The price is also so right (and the pieces will have people talking). Even more, in honor of Chisato's 20th anniversary, La Garconne is offering a commemorative t-shirt as a gift with purchase of any Chisato item!

Absolutely loving this nostalgic-seeming dress. It has a youthful spirit and yet is so mature and refined. Love the blue and black color combo. And the boat neck is a sure winner.

Nautical and French and lovely all in one!

In looooove with this scarf! Oooh la la!

I adore this tote bag with glitter dots. So Parisian and dainty and lovely. Would go perfect with jeans and a trench and flats. $96 dollars and worth every cent. And I love the signature Petit Bateau sail boat emblem and Chisato's signature cat! Tres chic!

The bite size pouch is equally adorable!

The collaboration is available here. And below I've also highlighted some of Chisato's non-collaborative work (that is equally, if not more, beautiful):

The most amazing long-sleeve top EVER. Pure happiness and whimsy!

A perfect PERFECT reversible coat.

Prairie meets exotic. I adore this skirt. I'd love to own it and wear it with long sweaters or a wool blazer... or really any top!

Macy's Collaboration: Kinder Aggugini

Per this article, London designer Kinder Aggugini will be launching a "designer series" with Macy's. "The Kinder Aggugini capsule will feature modern, feminine and figure flattering silhouettes in two contemporary colour stores: grey and blue with purple prints and soft pink and black." Sounds pretty damn specific! The price range will be $40-$140 (with "specialty pieces" priced up to $300). This should be interesting!

A look at Kinder's (non-Macy's) designs:

This is the "kind" of thing we need, Kinder!

MK Resort Takes Me Away

On the Agenda

Sitting in bed after a lovely evening out with friends. Can't go to sleep just yet. Making a list of errands I have to run tomorrow morning.
-Grab a large coffee and cinnamon raisin bagel w/ lox spread from bagel store
-Stop at thrift store in town (to check out handbags, blazers, and jewelry)
-Stop by Gap to purchase new pants
-Stop by TJ Maxx to see (notice how I don't say "purchase") what designer duds are in stock (the "Maxx" in my 'hood is phenomenal and often has amazing pieces by designers like Missoni, Theory, Alice + Olivia, and much much more)

When out and about town, I love to wear my Sperry boat shoes with oversized jeans and an oversized flannel shirt. Other options are a mini dress with tights, a sweater, and converse; shorts, stockings, riding boots, and chambray shirt; or skinny jeans, Hanes T, scarf, jacket, and converse

I also have a need to wear very oversized earrings when I'm out running errands. A small crossbody bag is also great. I have a great little fringed one as well as an old brown leather one, that are fantastic.

Getting a bit sleepy... By the way, is anyone watching "Runaway Bride" right now? Awesome soundtrack!

Night!!!

Cover Up in Style

NYC is freezing! I step outside and have to make sure I'm wearing a padded bra (if you know what I mean). Fine, fine, fine... I'm overexaggerating a lil bit. But the temperature has definitely dropped like one of Justin Bieber's singles after three weeks. And it's left me craving heavy knits and warm gloves. One of my favorite fall season combos lately is the oversized fisherman's sweater paired with skinny bottoms and sky high shoes.

THE SWEATER PART:

Loving this Topshop sweater. Perfect for any city (NYC, Paris, London...) and any fashion saavy gal.

Another Topshop find that screams daring and darling at the same time.

The perfect oversized knit sweater vest by Improvd. Great look and great color.

Totally out of my budget, but totally worth every penny. This Preen Line sweater is just magnificent.

THE PANTS PART (I'm sticking to Gap pants for this part because I think they're super beautiful this season):

I love a skinny pant for work. It's hard to find the perfect one, but the version at the Gap is fantastic.

The slim crop pant is another fantastic option. I'm not gonna lie - I just a few minutes ago discovered the Gap skinny pant and slim crop pant and will likely buy them the next time I receive a Gap promo code in my email inbox. I'm wearing a pair of heather grey Gap slim crop pants and always get complimented when I wear them. They are super comfortable and super versatile.

I had to throw these skinny cords in the mix because they are so friggin' fantastic. Hello. They are tres chic and have that very Parisian thing going on. Love them.

THE SHOES PART (I'm sticking to Piperlime for the shoes part because its shoe selection is my hands down favorite):

There's really nothing to do but drop your jaw when you see these Kelsi Dagger heels. They are killer. So awesome on a whole other level.

Crazy for these grey flannel Steve Maddens. Flirty office gal or something. They scream "fashion."

These Nine West pumps are sooooooooooo style. And you know that they'll be comfortable. (I'm wearing a super high pair of Nine West wedges today. It's my first time wearing them and they are crazy comfortable. Win!)

So, I'm done. These are so incredible. I don't even know what to say. "The End," perhaps?

Loro Piana Sings Like a Piano

The Loro Piana Ready-To-Wear and accessories line is absolutely breathtaking. I received an email from Bergdorf Goodman today featuring this designer. The coats and vests are divine and the ponchos and capes are a dream. The clothing is drastically out of my price range, but I find them pretty inspiring and felt the need to share them with you.

This cape is drop dead gorgeous. The construction is brilliant and would make anyone look classic and effortlessly beautiful.

The black version is also a knockout.

This cashmere cape looks unbelievably soft. Perfect for a fall day!

I love the plaid design on this absolutely beautiful vest. It's personality meets luxury.

This puffer coat is so amazing. It's completely functional and completely fashionable at the same time.

All clothing and images are from here.

American Apparel... Newly Discovered

I haven't been to American Apparel in a long time. I used to, religiously, order v-necks and leggings from its website, but then something happened. Those fads crashed and burned and I moved on to cheaper athletic Ts from Kohl's and plain black leggings from TJ Maxx.

Well, it turns out, AA has some pretty hot stuff this season. Nobody told me, as I bowed down to Equipment brand silk and chiffon shirts, that AA has a much more affordable alternative. Yeaaaaaah, thanks friends! I thought this girl sitting on the subway was wearing a $188 black chiffon shirt from the Equipment line. Turns out, it was likely the below (much more affordable) AA chiffon shirt! Like, why did I not know of this??

The green is also amazing...

The Piqué Raglan Pullover is also brilliant. I love the versions in bright red and pistacio.

Last, but not least, I love the El Salvador Lace Tee. It's items like this one that make AA feel like a one stop shop; a store that has everything from sweatpants to romantic frocks.

All items and pictures are from this site. Seriously, check out AA's new creations! They're fab!

News Flash

When I opened up my "AM New York" paper this morning and discovered that I was not listed as one of the top fashion bloggers in the country, I immediately declared (right then and there at the entrance of "Cinnabon" in Penn Station) that I would no longer neglect my blogging duties. No more waiting two weeks to write a new entry. No more watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians," when I could be writing an insightful bit on half-moon manicures. No more online shopping at Gilt Groupe when I could be saving my money by replacing shopping time with blogging time! It's not going to take a miracle for me to resume my consistent blogging; it's going to take some serious newfound commitment!

Speaking of new findings, I have been discovering random fashion phenomena left and right these days. From frosty lipstick to Proenza Schouler's latest GENIUS handbag creations, there is SO much going on in fashion right now.

(This is probably my favorite Proenza Schouler bag this season. The Medium Columbian Mochilla is absolutely STUNNING. It is cool, refined, and eclectic, all at once. I'm so digging the bright color and the uber attractive pattern. Barneys has an insanely amazing selection of Proenza Schouler handbags. I should've held on to all the lunch money I spent this year and put it toward a perfect PS bag.)

(This MAC Lipstick in "Frost High Strung" is just one of the many lovely and frosty creations that's good enough for an ice queen and good enough for the catwalk.)

I'm also digging Heidi Klum's current collaboration with New Balance that is available on Amazon.com. The pieces look comfy cozy and the straighforward color scheme in the collection is very smart.

I love the bagginess of this shirt and the geometric design is an unexpected touch.

These charcoal leggings have that vintage-y, circa-the-80s, feel that make them so incredibly awesome. They make going to the gym extra fabulous.

Last for today, I thought I'd discuss my love of Tory Burch's slim card cases. Little accessories go a long LONG way, and sometimes people notice the little details in your overall look more than that huge something you thought would rule the day.

I am a NYC subway girl, so I love a little case like this to store my Metrocard, along with my office ID and credit cards. So super cute (and chic)!

This one is functional and a little badass, all at once! Love the artsy design.

That's it! More updates soon!!
