All Over Oxford

I am falling madly in love with oxford shoes. I particularly love them with skinny jeans or opaque tights and a short skirt. I own one heeled pair, but I am looking to expand my oxford collection (for as little as possible, of course).

Classic flat...
I pretty much need to own these right away. They are incredibly basic and, therefore, incredibly great with everything. Work, rest, play - you name it, they're gonna work. They're also perfect for every season. A staple, for sure. At $99, you can't live without 'em.

These are just perfect for that weekend when you want to look effortlessly cool. Throw em' on with black skinnies and an oversized sweater for that chic comfy look. Pair em' with leggings and a short dress for that sweet look. They're just great for every casual occasion. At $130, they are a reasonable investment (and those Bloomies promo codes are practically everywhere, so make sure to look for em' before making an online purchase this holiday!).

I cannot handle the amazingness that is this shoe. The metallic flashes right before your very eyes and conveys a sense of glammar and pizzaz. I want to wear this shoe to a concert with ripped denim and a prim blazer. I want to wear it with shorts over tights and a baggy black top. The options are endless. Again, $130, but SO worth it.

The heeled deal...

This one is absolutely classic. Black and chic and oh so naughty and nice. Very hot-teacher- seeming. Love that this shoe is only $55.99 - quite the steal.

I am massively into this beautiful cognac, heeled oxford by Etienne Aigner. It is only $39.99 and absolutely darling.

This heeled oxford is quite sensational. I love the little ribbon - it gives it a little cabaret vibe. The comfort factor is also very much there, which is always important for the chic girl on the town. And the price? $79.99 ain't too bad!

Back in Business!

It's been a long long time since I last posted a blog entry. Sad, but true. I've been overwhelmingly busy with school work and had to put my blogging on pause. But I'm back (and hope to stay that way). The holiday season is in full force, and so I thought I'd talk about all things nice and cheap. Speaking of cheap, there are so many wonderful pretty things that are perfect holiday purchases for the gal (or guy) on a budget. I thought I'd just go right ahead and show some of them to you (just a few). These items are all ten bucks or under - pretty fab!

I am very into wearing the perfect bright, but sheer, lipstick (especially during the winter season). I love lipsticks or glosses that look much darker in the stick than they do on your lips. It's like a little special surprise once you put it on - never what you expect. I think Victoria's Secret does a great job, in terms of its makeup offerings. These lip products are perfect for any gal looking to look glam and spirited this holiday (and for a small price).

I swear, sometimes I think all it really takes is a solid accessory to make an outfit. In NYC, you can walk down the street in plain jeans and a jacket, and the quick addition of gloves (fingerless, elbow length, motorcycle) injects instant confidence and sass into your ensemble. These babies from Forever21 have the perfect balance of fierce and comfy cozy. And, of course, these cheapies are ten bucks and under!

Lately, I have been seeing some STUNNING headgear in different shops. Such accessories can be a bit pricey during the holiday season, but, luckily, my best friend Laura introduced me to some GORGEOUS economical alternatives. I haven't seen the below in person, but Laura has assured me that these Target creations are quite divine. Even better, they are all UNDER ten bucks! What I love about headbands is that they're a great jewelry substitute. There's nothing like a sweet sweater dress, some sky high pumps, and a gorgeous gem on the top of your head (throw a cup of egg nog in your hand and you've really got the holiday spirit down pat)!

Very Vintage

I'm not one of those can't-live-without-my-vintage-finds kinda gal. Don't get me wrong -- I own some vintage items and absolutely adore them, but I'm not dressed in head-to-toe 1970s Biba or 1950s Dior. But sometimes I do encounter that miracle of a vintage piece. The piece that speaks volumes and has me thinking, "Where did you come from and where have you been all MY life?" So this blog entry is dedicated to everything vintage. I am especially blown away by the webiste http://www.poshvintage.com/, which features a wide array of unusual and brilliantly selected vintage finds (I'm serious -- I'd wear everything of theirs). What I have presented for you are some of my favorites from this site. Yes, I know, these are a bit pricey -- but they DEFINITELY seem worth the investment!

Um, excuse me?!? Jean Paul Gaultier for Target!!!

Yes, feel free to do a double take as did I. It's true. Jean Paul Gaultier is INDEED designing a collection for Target. Insane, brilliant, sick, phenomenal - I don't know how else to describe what this means. I'm thinking fierce and amazing all the way. If this collection is even REMOTELY like what you see below, we are seriously in store for some genius behavior (for less). Bravo, Target, BRAVO!

Learned of this breaking news here

I really REALLY can't wait until MARCH 2010 --- way too far away...

Anthropologie collab! ahhhhh!!!!

The amazing Anthropologie has finally caved! Looks like this perfectly adorable and chic store will be joining the collaboration movement. Anthro will be joining forces with Brian Wolk and Claude Morais of Ruffian in order to churn out four splendid collections (clothes AND home goods!). These will appear in stores this November. More information is available in this article.

These are just some images from the regular Ruffian Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection (and clearly an indication of the AMAZINGNESS that its collab with Anthro will bring). Images from style.com

"Whip"ping out the goods

I'm a BIG fan of the fashion Drew Barrymore (and Ellen Page, for that matter) is bringing to the table when it comes to promoting her directorial debut, "Whip It!" It's so unusual, yet SO wonderfully creative, that I just had to feature some her outfits.

Looks from the movie itself.

Can I have some Kane-dy?

Can we discuss how in love I am with the Christopher Kane for Topshop line? It's just oozing with prettiness (and sexiness) and I literally want everything (from the high high HIGH shorts to the shoes). I will say, it's not the cheapest designer collab around, but it's still sooooo hard to resist. I'm definitely freaking out about how off the freakin' chain the bodysuits are. They are BEYOND amazing -- they are the fiercest of the fierce. I'm literally salavating over here wanting to own one. I'm really thinking that this amazing collab is worth saving your pretty penny. Here are some of my favorite items:
