It's days like today where I want to curl up, take a nap, and put on uber comfy cozy clothes. I woke up this morning disgustingly tired and out of it, and yearned for a nice cashmere sweater, linen tie-pants, and a hot cup of coffee. Instead, I threw on my binding black slacks and decorated my face with makeup. My state of being today has inspired me to write a blog entry about comfy work appropriate clothes (without looking like a slob).
Option #1: The Wrap Dress
I love this easy breezy choice for days where I want to be comfortable, yet, a little sexy. I especially love the wrap dress during the warmer months where I'm dismally cold in the office. I always opt for wrap dresses in solid, basic colors, so I can wear them again and again (with few people realizing it). They pair so well with chunky jewels and all sorts of shoes.
Sweet and Dainty - Banana Republic - $130
Lovely Gem Tone - Old Navy - $12.99
Option #2: Drawstring Pants
It is my experience that anything with a drawstring is immediately labeled as "fuddy duddy," "old-fart-seeming," or just plain old unfashionable. However, drawstring pants are coming back in really stylish ways!
J.Crew always does a fine drawstring - $69.50
Option #3: Comfy Flats
Classic - Walmart - $10
I am a heels girl all the way. But when a day is not my day, and I am feeling "ick" and not so chic, I must wear flats. While I love my Tory Burch flats, there are others I love just as much, or even more.
I have these in "Desert" and they feel like butter they are so soft! Dolce Vita - $51.77
(Dolce Vita flats are one of my absolute faves.)
Soft + Funky - Steven - $95
