L.L. Bean goes chic
Per the article below, I recently learned that the very preppy L.L. Bean label is moving in a more modern direction. Sitting in the driver's seat, chief designer Alex Carleton will be helping the label shift gears while still retaining its "L.L. Bean[] roots." So, when I learned of this, I decided to type the name "Alex Carleton" into my handy dandy search engine. What I found was a man who serves as the owner of the label Rogues Gallery, which is based in Maine (quite convenient for L.L. Bean!). I then ventured into the Très Bien Shop, where I found an assortment of Rogues Gallery brand menswear that was truly beautiful. Take a look for yourself:

If this is any sort of indication of what's to come from the upcoming Alex Carleton-driven L.L. Bean label, I think we're in for a real treat. I look forward to injecting some more prep into my wardrobe.

Kate Spade does it again!
Kate Spade has done a number of things well - bag creation, shoe creation, apparel creation. One of her creations that has really stood out is her collection of bracelets. Every morning when I receive my "shopittome" email, there are usually a few Kate Spade pieces listed as being on sale. I always take the time to look at her bright resin bangels, enamel bangels, and other cuffs and such. But her resin bangels are, without question, my favorite. They are perfect for spicing up an unusually dull outfit. With bangles, I often feel like I have to stack several together, or combine one with other kinds of bracelets. Not with the Kate Spade resin bangels, though - each one can stand on its own two feet and be worn alone (not to say mixing it up with others bracelets would be a bad thing -- just know you have myriad options). So, to wake you up this morning(/approaching afternoon), here is a pop of colorful Kate Spade jewelry!

More on the Anna Sheffield for Target collab
As I discussed in a previous blog entry back in July (this one), the amazing jewelry designer Anna Sheffield is teaming up with Target to provide a top notch line of jewelry. Looks like the images are out! Here they are (from the Lucky Magazine website):

Payless/Airwalk/Jeff Staple collab
I always get excited when I learn of new interesting collaborations - especially when it involves designers with whom I'm unfamiliar. In this case, I turn to the super-talented Jeff Staple. I've learned one thing about Jeff Staple - he does some brilliant sneaker collaboration work! Just take a look at some of his past collaborations below.

Past Jeff Staple/Fila collab
And now, Jeff Staple is bringing his amazing talent to PAYLESS - how sweet! Per this article, the brand Airwalk (the name instantly reminds me of the old pair my brother used to wear religiously during his "skateboard" years) will be joining forces with Jeff Staple to form STPLxAirwalk(TM) brand. Prices appear to run from $30-$50 a pair. And it looks like there are styles for men AND women! The totally awesome website http://www.sneakerobsession.com/ has some of the images from this upcoming Fall line on its website. Take a look at some of my faves below (the textures look so rich and beautiful!):

JCPenney madness
In the spirit of all the current JCPenney craziness (store opening, star appearances, etc), I thought I should turn my focus to the amazing JCPenney designer collabs going on.
I have always been totally OBSESSED with the Charlotte Ronson collab (i heart ronson), but I also admire the amazing designs of Nicole Miller, Bisou Bisou, and others. I think JCPenney is making quite the [badass] comeback. Seriously -- look at these outfits below. They're the kind of outfits you would copy, literally, shoe for shoe, glove for glove.
